St.George Forane Church, Ernakulam
It is been believed that the church is built on 593 AD where the plot was given by the Raja of Edappally. This church was so important for Christians because this was an ancient church built by St.Thomas the apostle came to India to preach Gospel. That church was very small and facing to the west, as the Arabian sea was in front of the church at that time. This ancient church is been preserved still near the newly built church. In 1080 AD the new church is been built because of the crowd.
Mother Theresa visited this church on 1994 in connection with the 14th centenary celebration.
The well in the church compound is also very famous. The water lever remains the same as below 2 meters of the ground in 365 days. It is also believed that the water from this well can cure many illness. People believe that if they keep the soil from the church compound at the home, it will be protected from snakes
